One of the most common questions raised at the grocery store is whether an item is selling at a good price or not. The Smart Buy Price helps answer this, especially when prices on products sometimes fluctuate daily. The Smart Buy Price is actually a price range. The SmartShopIt powerful shopper engine takes into account a variety of factors in order to generate a buy range that is most helpful to you. SmartShopIt.com considers geographic location, origin of prices, Member prices, inaccurate pricing, sales, online prices and a variety of other factors. Our goal is to let you know when a product’s price is a smart buy.

If the Smart Buy Range is black then this is a regional value and prices used are ones entered in your geographic area. If it is green, then it is a national price range and the only prices SmartShopIt has are outside your area.

If only one price is listed that is because, so far, we only have this price entered. Please enter prices you find to help build the database. If you have found this product locally, please be the first to enter a price so that, along with other local Members, we can build regional price information for your area.

You can enter a price if this item is on your shopping or Favorites list. You can also enter it on the Product Detail panel for that specific item. Don't forget to properly enter which store you bought/found this item at by setting the 'Currently Shopping At' retailer. You will also see both regional and national Smart Buy Ranges for a product on the Product Detail panel giving you an idea of how this product’s pricing fares on both a local and national level.

You can also set a Smart Buy trigger by adding this product to your Favorites list and then setting a Smart Buy Alert amount. This will alert you if a price is entered at a retailer in your area that is lower than your alert value.
