Understanding the Shopping List
The SmartShopIt Shopping List is the heart of the system. Here the SmartShopIt shopping engine calculates several factors and scans its vast price database, the results are then displayed in this report. There are several stages (you do not need to use them all) that go into creating this list. Once you’ve learned to use some or all of them, you will find them to be powerful tools to help you shop:

Creating a New Shopping List
Select Shopping Lists from the Main Menu bar. Once you get to the Shopping Lists screen (see below), enter a list name (max. 14 characters) in the Add field, then press the Add button. You can create up to eight (8) shopping lists. Once added, you can edit the name
, delete the list
or add/edit a note to the list. Once you are done creating a list, you are then presented with three options by which you can add items.
The three options are:
Below is a summary of each option.
Quick List
This is a quick and simple way to create a list, much like you do today. As you would write bread, milk, eggs and cereal on a list, you can do the same here. This is because you don’t necessarily know the specific type of cereal or bread you want to buy at this moment. You usually make that final decision at the store, after you see what's available, what's fresh and what price they are selling for.
With SmartShopIt.com, you have access to much more information so we try to help by indicating the best product and Smart Buy Price range to look for, hopefully to help you to be a smarter shopper before and while you are at the store.
Browse Products
If you know what specific product you want, this method is best to use to add those items. You can also browse the categories, like walking the aisles at the store and look at products available, product information and pricing.
You can also add keywords and categories via this method if you can't decide what specific item you want to buy.
Favorites
You have many products that you like to buy often. Save these on your Favorites list and you can quickly add them to your Shopping List. On this list you can also see Smart Buy Prices, your Best Price and enter prices. A great reference list you can print and bring to the store or access via your mobile web device. You can also set Smart Buy triggers to alert you when we learn of low prices on these items.
Select the method by clicking on the icon of the method you want to use to add items to your shopping list. Don’t worry, you can get back to any of these methods after you’ve created the list. As you build your list you can see that SmartShopIt helps by scanning its database to find you the best buys for these items.
