My Profile - Basic Info

You can access your profile from anywhere in the site. Just click on the My Profile link found at the right side of the top banner on each page. There are several sections to your profile, divided by several tabs across the top. The more information you fill out, the better SmartShopIt and the shopping community can help you. You have complete control over your profile information and SmartShopIt does not share this individual information with anyone.

Under Basic Info, you can enter the following:

Member ID – This field is not editable. It is set when you created your account and is here for reference only.

First Name – This is your first name entered when you registered.

Last Name – This is your last name entered when you registered.

Email – This is the email address you used when you registered.

Zip code – This is your base zip code and is the location where you do most of your shopping. This was entered when you registered but if you wish to change your base shopping area, you can do it here. Don’t worry as you are also able to over-ride this zip code on your shopping list page, if you want to shop in another area for that specific list.

Radius – The radius is used in various areas when searching for prices and products locally to your zip code. Put in a distance you are willing to travel to shop from your base zip code area. You can select from 1 to 20 miles from the pull-down menu.

Shopping List Calculation Method – When searching for best products to buy, SmartShopIt can use one of two methods. The first is the Lowest Price (LP) method. This searches for products with the lowest price, regardless of size. The second is the Best Value (BV) method. This searches for the lowest price per unit of measurement. This suits large families best as usually larger sizes have the lower prices per unit of measurement (UOM).

Page Size – In the Product Look-up section, if search is performed and multiple pages of results needs to be displayed, this indicates how many items will be on each page.

Address (Address 1 & 2, City, State & Country) – If entered, this information is used to give directions to any retailer in our database.

Time Zone – Enter the time zone you shop in.

Gender – Select your gender

Birthday – Enter the month and day of your birth

Birth Year – Enter the year of your birth

Education – Enter the highest level of education you have completed.
