Browse Products
Here you can browse products, much like you do when walking up and down the aisles at your local grocery store. As you find products, you can add a product, category or keyword(s) to your SmartShopIt Shopping list.
A specific product could be a box of Corn Flakes 12.5 oz, Cola 2 Liter or Paper Plates 100 count. Note that it usually consists of a product name and size. If you add an product, then SmartShopIt will search the database and calculate the Smart Buy Price range in your area for that specific item.
Add Product
You can add an Item one of two ways:
Product Name/UPC Search
Enter an Item Name or UPC then press search. (Optional: If you entered an Item Name and want a specific size then enter the size and unit of measurement (UOM)). The results of that search will appear below and you can then select the product(s) you want. After you selected the products then click on the Add 
icon in the Item List area.
Category Search
You can also search the Category tree for an item. Much like browsing the shelves in a grocery store, select the category you are looking for. Once you get to the lowest level, the products in that category, the items will appear. Check the product(s) you want then press the Add icon in the Item List area.
Add Category
If you want SmartShopIt to look through all products of a category to find the best price, then add a category. In the category tree, there is a check box next to each category name. Check the category you want to add then press the Add icon in the category area.
Add Keyword
Sometimes you want SmartShopIt to look through all products that contain a certain keyword. For example, you may want SmartShopIt to look for the lowest priced item that contains Ground Beef. To add a keyword, enter the word(s) in the Item Name/Keyword field then press the Add icon to the right of that field.
